Reaching the ends of the earth through global gateway cities:

Why ?
God has brought the most unreached people groups from Somalia, Iraq, Algeria and West Africa to the USA and especially our city of Columbus, OH. In a 1 mile block around our home, there are several Somali, West African restaurants, laundromat, Somali malls, and technology stores. You can even eat camel meat at a few Somali restaurants. Yumm!
We cannot go to their home countries, but they are living in our neighborhoods. What a great opportunity for them to hear about the great love and abundant life in Jesus Christ.
Together we can make the difference and impact the nations. Your support gives both Kabi and Jayne the time to focus on the ministry: Pray and walk in the community, record Bible scriptures, language learning, share the Bible and pray with more SB and others so that they can discover God's love and salvation for them.

How can they hear if no one tells them?The SB come from a terrorist controlled country. There is no church among them. There are fewer than 20 secret believers. Though they live in America, they live in their cultural communities, speak their language, and follow the religion they were handed down by their parents. They remain unreached unless we tell them. We see them striving so hard, struggling to read the Quran, and reciting prayers in a language they can't read and don't understand. They have been deceived, believing they are pleasing their God (Allah) and just hoping He may allow them into heaven one day, but their book, the Quran gives them no promise of salvation. We pray that they would accept the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. "It is by grace you have been saved, through faith,-and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--not by works so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV) God is calling us to tell them this Good News: Will you join us? |
For two thousand years, The Ends of the Earth have waited for the hope of salvation in Jesus Christ. Today, God has brought The Ends of the Earth to us. North America's megacities are now home to many unreached people groups from around the world. Through these unreached urban communities, God has opened a gateway that reaches to The Ends of the Earth.
What we do?
We depend on the Holy Spirit to open people's hearts, to guide us as to who to help and who to visit. We meet with a team of local workers and volunteers once a month, and pray with a national team of workers weekly to intercede for the SB people. We walk around the community praying for people in the community. When people come to talk to us we ask them how we can pray for them. One man asked our team member to pray for his knee. The next day when he saw them, he came running out. "God healed my knee." He told everyone in the community what had happened. Through our global network, we connect with secret believers to translate and record Bible passages in their language. Then we check it, make appropriate corrections and recheck it again. After all the necessary corrections have been made, we check it with our Wycliffe consultant for the final approval to publish. Pray with us for more SB Maay speakers to be willing to listen, translate and record.
When we visit the community, we always make new friends and later visit them in their homes, eat with them, share life together with them and pray with them.
They are a spiritually minded people so, they love talking about Allah! As they share Allah, we also share more with them what we believe. Through friendly conversation, we have opportunity to share with them words of encouragement, and pray with them in the powerful name of Jesus for their healing and needs.
Many times they have told us, "God heard your prayer, I have a job."

Through social media, we connected with other secret believers who are in East Africa and USA, and began praying with them and teaching them the Word of God for discipleship, encouraging them to multiply and keeping unity. Pray for more believers who can help with the Bible translation.
We're also meeting with an Algerian believer and her family to disciple, and encourage an Algerian home group.

Shema is Hebrew: comes from Deut. 6:4-9: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Take to heart these instructions with which I charge you this day. Impress them upon your children. Recite them when you stay at home and when you are away, when you lie down and when you get up. Bind them as a sign on your hand and let them serve as a symbol on your forehead, inscribe them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates."
